And to think Varlamov got favored over him as the starter for team Russia.

Unfortunately his playoff numbers are not so great.

2010-11 3.23 GAA and 0.877SV%
2011-12 8.11 GAA and 0.722SV% (Granted it was one game)
2013-14 3.17 GAA and 0.908SV%

meh, don't be sore. He's doing well for them just like Mason has rebounded in Philly. it's all good.

Always great to analyze such a huge sample size.

What the one season you made it? Go ahead Mason looks better anyways. I don't deny Bob had a good season, I still dont believe he wins a Vezina if he played a full 82 game season. Both Goalies had pretty similar stats last season Bob having the slight edge.

Mason Playoff stats:

Columbus 4.27 GAA .878SV%
Philadelphia 1.97 GAA .939 SV%

My earlier comment was not about Mason anyways, it was about Bobs poor playoff stats. He wasn't good in the 1st round that is a fact and if he cant improve on that it doesn't matter how good of a season he has...

Sample size is irrelevant. His play last postseason is a baseline for his playoff performance.

How am I being sore. I am just saying he has to improve his playoff performances if you want to give him the praise the writer has given him. Mason has to do the exact same thing. He has to prove he can put up strong numbers like he did in Reg season and Post season. I know he had one good season in Columbus and then dropped off, I worry that happens again but I think it should be unlikely because he should have learned from that and matured as well.

Obviously you haven't been watching last years playoffs against Pittsburgh, he was horrible in the games we won but in the games we lost he was facing 35+ shots, the stats say the contrary but I think he wasn't that bad, besides Pittsburgh was an offensive juggernaut according to everyone.

As for the mason comment it's was simply to say to not consider what Bob did with the flyers(it would be easy for me to say Mace is a doubtful regular season goalie),Bob's play in the post season hasn't warranted any frustration for management who believe he gave them a chance to win every game.

Ummm.... he averaged over 3 goals against that series. I just wouldn't use the playoffs to help his case so far in his career.

3 goals on 20 shots is what killed him, but some games in that series he was facing close 40, seems about normal for about 4 goals on 40 shots

Actually I did watch.

Game 1: 32 SA .875SV% 4-3 Loss
Game 2: 42 SA .929SV% 4-3 Win
Game 3: 41 SA .902SV% 4-3 Loss
Game 4: 25 SA .880SV% 4-3 Win
Game 5: 50 SA .960SV% 3-1 Loss
Game 6: 28 SA .857SV% 4-3 Loss

Shots are a poor indicator of how a goalie did, a crappy shot from the perimeter counts as a shot, the kind of shot Neal took on repeatedly for some reason. Fact was Bob was all over the place not in a good way, his rebound control was not good in that series and only played well in 2 out of 6 games. That is not good enough. He needs to be better.
